How far in advance should I book?
At least 24 hours, more during peak season (summer weekends, fall color, holiday weekends). For weddings and event shuttles, reach out as soon as your venue is locked in — most book six to nine months ahead.
Do you serve Mackinac Island?
Yes. We coordinate Mackinac Island ferry transfers through Shepler's and Arnold from Mackinaw City and St. Ignace, and we handle the luggage workflow — bag tagging, dock handoff, and confirming your bags meet you at the hotel. We've done it thousands of times.
What's the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before scheduled service are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. In most cases, cancellations made inside 24 hours of service are charged 50% of the booked fare.
Can I bring my dog?
Service animals always. Other pets depend on the vehicle and the route — note it on the booking and we'll match you with a driver who's set up for it. Some vehicles aren't pet-friendly during peak season.
How much luggage can I bring?
Standard airport luggage allowance fits any of our vehicles. Oversized items (golf clubs, skis, bikes, large coolers, instruments) — note it on the booking and we'll confirm fit. For Mackinac Island, the bag workflow has its own rhythm; we'll walk you through it.
Do you do one-way airport trips?
Yes — one-way is our most common ride. Both the reservation form and the quote form have a one-way option.
What about gratuity?
Gratuity isn't included on the base fare. 20.00% is standard but never expected — drivers appreciate whatever you're comfortable with.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes — Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, plus cash and check. We do not accept American Express. Online pre-payment is rolling out alongside the new booking system; in the meantime we collect at pickup or send a payment link after the quote.
Do you operate year-round?
Yes. Summer and fall are peak; winter and shoulder seasons run on advance reservations. We've done holiday transport, snowmobile-trip drops, and ice-fishing-camp shuttles. Call if your trip doesn't look like a brochure photo.
Do you accommodate wheelchairs or mobility devices?
Yes — please tell us in advance. Not every vehicle in our fleet is chair-accessible, so mention any wheelchair, walker, scooter, or mobility device in the 'Anything else we should know' field when you book (or call us) so we can assign the right vehicle. Service animals are always welcome.
How will I know my driver?
We confirm pickup-day details by email (and by text if you give us a mobile). The driver will text or call within the pickup window. Every vehicle has 'Mackinaw Shuttle' on the side in gold lettering — hard to miss.
